Default What beater?

Im slowly coming round to the idea of this after a couple of issues.

Some thieving pikey scumbuzzard has nicked 3 of my valve caps. Stealing is for sub pond life. imagine it was kids but they should still be spayed with Napalm. It means someone has touched my property

I also had to park it in a pub car park while playing a match tonight, and it wasnt in the nicest area. Couldnt help thinking of drunken chavs deciding to do Karate Kid moves on my rear picnic table

So basically im scared of leaving the car anywhere that isnt my garage, or work. Sad maybe, but its like new and it would pain me if something bad happened. Its worse with this car than any ive owned, its sometimes like you are driving a scape ship the way people look at it

So, if I had a few hundred quid - what should I get? Some sort of Diesel? I dont think I could buy French, unless its a 205 Gti

Ideas please?

My plan is to have another S one day soon, and I wouldnt be fussed leaving that places as it just doenst attract the wrong sort of attention as much.

Other plan I have is to just buy an STi 5/6 or an Evo 6 that im not as fussed about and sell my current one

Very true. And better than being under canvas when close to East Midlands airport.

I would forget hatchbacks and look at family/ exec cars - cheap hatchbacks have a big market for youngsters, grannys and mothers.

A Saab like Marks would be perfect IMHO, those engines run forever.

I've recently got a Merc. Loads of toys and the thing virtually drives itself. Its totally anonymous which is the total opposite to the S

Cheap as chips too

Mark, there's an interesting PH thread on luxo barges here...

We have an unbelievably dull MY96 Mazda 323 1.5

It's not quick but we've had it for 3 years and it hasn't missed a beat. Looks pretty good for this type of car too. If you just want a workhorse then there seem to be plenty of these around and they're very cheap.

Forget all that V tech crap, a beater is just that its a beater, something
to not give a toss about and to make your main car feel special.
Buy a fiesta or something.

Russ.
