i think i'd rather have the BM V10 than any TVR motor

dont they fall to bits every 20k or something?

How much does it weigh Welshman? I've often thought the V8 from the M3 in an S2000 would be good fun
kerb weight 1470kg

I'm not sure. That's the weight for the car with the 4.4 litre twin turbo unit. Probably not much different for the V10 - two extra cylinders but no turbochargers.

That's massively more than a Tiv.

Hence more densely constructed and less likely to dissolve at speed. Or stationary.

'Massively' better made too.

The specialist sent me some photos of the underpinnings which do tend to support that statement:

Probably north of 330bhp/ton

Be interesting to hear how it drives, in theory it would be a bit of a handful

Review of the turbo is positive http://youtu.be/3dA3NgH2_ss

My new German colleagues on the Weismann forum tell me the following:

EU kerb weight is calculated as the car plus 90% of its fuel load and a 75kg driver. So the number quoted by jml for the V8 powered MF5 of 1,470kg actually is a dry weight of 1,350kg. The V10 engine is about 15kg lighter than the V8 twin turbo motor so the dry weight is c.1,335kg

It isn't shit down there, is it? It's rather more obvious that Tivs are less dense, shall we say.

Funny how with all this 'downsizing' the V10 is lighter. And you lose the NA power delivery.

Same reason the Acura RDX dropped the disappointing K23 Turbo & reverted to the good ol' J35.

Thuggishly pretty that - and it has the headlights that that butt ugly Morgan should have had!

I approve (not that it needs approval). It's a great package.

I've seen a couple at the Nurburgring. Shame they went to the wall didn't they? Do you have a good mechanic? Or were they rescued?

Not rescued - at least yet.

Drivetrain is no problem. I'm told that someone has stepped in to make parts - given that there are around 1,500 running around there should be money in it for someone.
