Having a look on Autotrader and stumbled across this.

Why would you do it?

It ruins a fantastic looking car

I guess it proves money (or finance) can't buy good taste

Keep it stock - please!!

For a minute I thought those boots were disguising the fact it is actually an MR2

Who's seen one of those then?

Not seen one in person, but seen enough photos of them. On this months latest Kit Car magazine, they do a feature on the five best Ferrari kit car copies. Why?

Why ruin a decent car to make a fake Ferrari. I don't mind fully kitting up a car, by trying to copy something else kind of misses the point IMO.

If it's well done, it makes quite an accurate replica and quite an attractive car.

The MR2 has intrinsically better proportions than a 360 and it would be interesting to see if the design worked better on the smaller car.

There is also something intrinsically funny about a fake Ferrari based upon a Toyota.

But I do have difficulties with plagiarism per se; even when the manufacturers do it with badge-engineering.

I mean, use a donor car to create your own (The Fisker Latigo, for example).

But when Porsche used a VW SUV to do it, the laughter fell silent (tumbleweed exits stage left).

the 355 mk2 MR2 kits are bad, but there is a kit for the mk3 MR2 (the 140bhp drop top) to look like a 360.

Looks like it shrank and twisted in the wash.

And for the rips in the pic above? It's all a little "bling bling" show pony stuff for me. May look good in California crusing about the freeways. Doesn't look good in Slough on a housing estate.
