Default Wow- spotted!

Having just nipped out for a quick fill up of V-power I get back in the Elise to head home. As I am about to turn left out of the Shell station a hear a rumble and suddenly catch a very distinctive profile of a car.

To give you some idea of my location I am in Ottershaw and the petrol station is at the bootmo f the hill from McLaren.

It was one of these....

A Mercedes Mclaren SLR Stirling Moss

I saw it from this angle mainly...

I followed it right up to Mclaren's driveway and illuminated sign. I wanted to pull over and chat to the guys in it but I didn't think that would be the appropriate thing to do. My thoughts on it are:

It looks like nothing else on the road from the rear - truly unique modern styling bit a little marmite in its look. Personally I loved it.

Sounds great

Shorter in the flesh thatn I thought it was going to be.

Very cool.

We only drove on a few lanes and it was behind a micra so no stretching of legs. To give you an idea of speed I caught up with it and never broke the 50mph posted speed limit. Anyway it was great to see such a rare modern car

It doesn't look quite right to me, although in real life I'm sure it is unique!!!!

I imagine that looks completely bonkers on the road.

I think the wheels look too modern for the style of design. It may suit so chrome type spokes.

My mate said there were several SLRs at the Mille Milgia this year, saw a few pics and he said it looked pretty awesome on the road! I hadnt even heard of it a few months ago so i think the Mille Milgia was their first outing!

Not my cup of tea. Looks like a batmobile.
There are so many other prettier cars.
