What doesn't make sense with it is that on the assumption the bloke actually has spent 147k on it, why does the boot look like a 39.95 sub has been put in it?

It wasn't modified by the chap / company selling it now.

I believe it was a show car for the company which created it (so the £147k is slightly moot)

It was auctioned in France earlier this year - presumably picked up by the PH seller?
