Default Xd's got a new van

I am afraid my equipment has outgrown my old van and I am hitting the limit as far as its load is concerned so its time to upgrade. I have been looking at a few vans, Peugeot Expert, Citroen Relay and the Mercedes Vito. The requirements are it need to be able to handle around 800kg load in the back and has good security. I will have around £9k to put down on the van the rest I will have to make up as I go along. I am looking at nearly new or possibly new as I also need the security of a warranty. Not up to date with what is out there, any ideas?

We just got a really good deal on an approved used citroen dispatch (same as the expert). The 1.6HDi engine is pretty good - plenty enough power for a van and good economy. Nice to drive and the PSA diesels are always bulletproof.

A Vivaro/Traffic gearbox will go before 60k as it has to countless people I know. I'm not overly keen on them anyway. IMO Vitos are really overpriced for what they are. We have just been looking into all this and couldn't really find a van to touch the new Expert/Dispatch/Scudo for the money. You also get a trafficmaster system in there for 3 years which checks traffic conditions etc which is pretty good. A good deal of them also have rear parking sensors, A/C etc etc.

I've been looking around too depends if you have the capital or not but consider leasing? I think that's what we're going to do as well as our capital is better spent on aircraft and I can help cover the monthly running costs.

At least in my head it works better I should write down the numbers.

Matt, some valid points there, I have found one company who are selling the Peugeot Experts pre registered for £10999+VAT which is around £4k off RRP.

Danny, this is certainly one route I am considering.

Okay, I have done it and just put down the deposit on the New Mercedes Vito 111 Sport LWB which is coming out late July. After a lot of procrastinating I decided to go for white rather than black. Reason being is I think it looks good in white, especially with colour coded bumpers and chrome. Logos will also be done in chrome.

Yup, they have been around for years, I know bit of a contradiction but its a cheaper way of getting all the additional goodies at a reduced price. Spec is as follows;

 Assyst – flexible servicing system
 Cruise control with Speedtronic
 Driver’s comfort seat with armrest and four-way adjustment
 Driver’s airbag
 Electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors
 Electric front windows
 Electronic immobiliser
 Leather covered steering wheel and gearshift lever
 Load lashing rings in load compartment

Exterior
 17" 6-spoke alloy wheels
 225/55 R17 comfort tyres
 Adaptive Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
 Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
 Anti-slip regulation (traction control) (ASR)
 Brake assist (BAS) with Electronic brakeforce distribution (EBV)
 Colour coded bumpers and side trims

Good choice

But you are also forgetting one major factor.......... you turning up in a Mercedes is surely better than a Peugeot or Citroen.

Image is literally everything to you and your specialist trade - good move
