I spend an hour every morning in a traffic jam for 20 miles. An auto would be lovely.

I drove an S80 with a couple of pals to Meribel over New Year. It was a very easy car on the motorways, it must be said. Plenty of toys, leather etc.

If you're considering an E46 325, then also consider a 330 - Almost identical running costs but with more torque!

FWIW, I'd have a Mondeo TDCI or the Saab.

Seemingly cheap to buy/ maintain/ run and after a few years at 100 miles a day they're going to be woth scrap money, but then whatever you buy isn't going to be worth much!

Fair point.

That commute would do my head in big style.

Why are you trying to waste so much money?

Train no good? You can sleep there and back so it takes no time at all.

Mondeo is a very sensible idea, failing that, go for the cabbies favourite, the Avensis.

A Camry would be interesting too.
