Default 05 VW Jetta

My wife just bought a Jetta.

I've always been partial to Honda (imagine that).

Do any of you own a VW, past or present?

Please post any experience with the car. The good, bad and the ugly. Thanks!

Well. . .

I absolutely LOVE the R32. What an unreal machine. I was simply impressed by the power and handling of the little hatch. Since my Civic Si purchase, I have found myself attracted to hatchbacks. They make great, practical cars. The R32 combines this design with luxury and sport and POWER!

As for VW, I enjoy the design of their cars and the overall build quality. The Touareg is awesome, the Phaeton is a beast, the Jetta is a favorite too. ENJOY and POST PICS SOON!!!

We picked up a 05 Jetta GLS. It looks good but I just hope the long-term reliability is as good as Honda.

I'm not a huge fan of VW, but like airgate I think the R32 is hot!

Her car is the dark gray color. It almost looks like gunmetal.
I'm not sure what they call it.

I'll get some pics up soon. Thanks for responding.

Just curious, was the purchase based on styling, appointments, performance or value?

To be truthful, it was based on my wife wanting one.

She has always liked them.

She had an 02 Accord Coupe SE but wanted something new.

Now we have the Accord, s2000 and the Jetta!!!!!!!

The accord will be my daily driver, so I can keep the S well rested.

The color is more-likely "Platinum Gray." From vw.com

I've always thought the Jetta was a realy cool sedan that was a cut above the domestics in fit and finish. It gives the impression that the owner has discriminating taste, could pay much more for a car but knows a great value.

I guess that's why I don't own one.

Good enough reason. She happy, you happy, we happy. Everybody happy.

Never had a VW. I always liked the old bugs. I would still like to have one to knock around in. Say a 68 or 69 would do nicely.
