Default 24 hr AutoX in Charlotte?!

I've been hearing rumors from a friend that there will be a 24hr, all you can run AutoX in Sept. at Eastland Mall. A google search did show that they've run this thing the past couple years, but I couldn't find any current information. Anyone know anything about this?

I remember hearing something about this last year, and was as equally frustrated last year as this one, in not being able to find any information. Here's the only blurb I came up with:

SEPTEMBER *9/1 AUTOCROSS: 24 Heure Du Mall
20th Anniversary of the 24 hours autocross event
Central Carolinas Region SCCA Eastland Mall
Charlotte, NC

Apparently, it runs 8/31-9/1, but I can't find any additional info on their site.

Let us know if you find anything.

Here's a reply I got back from one fo the organizers:

We will soon have information on our website at www.ccrsolo2.org You will be able to online register as well as get directions and view event operating rules and times. Basically we run from 12 noon on Saturday until 12 noon on Sunday! You will have to sign up for "x" amount of work hours during that time and otherwise you run until you keel over!

Steven Rankins

btw, I went to the Carolina Motorsports Park AutoX this past weekend. Top speed on course in SoloII was a Boxter S at 95mph! The first day the had coned the east half of the track but decided to get rid of the cones altogether for sunday!

Hey Kris, did you run your S at CMS? Are you thinking about registering for the 24-hr one?

I think I'll definitely come check it out, as a spectator if not a participant. I printed their basic "novice" information; looks like it could be fun. I wonder if I could find a local class prior to this?

No, didn't run at CMS. I intended to, but started getting a really funky hesitation in the engine on the way down. A buddy of mine ran in his Sentra and had a blast. I wouldn't worry about taking a class before going as you can go as fast or slow as you want and there's nothing but cones to hit. I'm planning on going for the entire 24 hours. hmmmm, better buy some tires.
