Default advice on lowering springs

I just bought a set of skunk2 lowering springs and i was told that in order to properly align the wheels with the lowered springs i had to buy adjustable rear upper control arms and new ball joints in the front. I was told that if i didnt put those in the alignment would eat away the insides of my tires. is this true or just another mechanic con job?

That's BS. You don't need a camber kit for the s. You could get an anti-bumpteer kit to help out with the roads though.
