Default Already need help (advice)...

So, she hit a curb with the front spoiler, I don't blame her, I made her drive it she could see what I was smiling about all the time. Asked her to park it at stonecrest and she put the front spoiler on the curb just as I was telling her to be careful. So, 200 miles on it and the front spoiler has nasty scratches all over the front of it.

So, I need some advice. I am sure it will happen again, but since it only has been in the garage for 3 days, I will get it repaired this time. Has anyone ever had this repair done in Charlotte and if so, how much did it cost? I am thinking of just going into Hendrick Honda and having them fix it up. Does anyone have any suggestions of a good paint shop in the city.

Is there anything you can do to prevent the actual spoiler from getting scraped? I have read that you can get a chin spoiler for it and that if you are going to scratch it up, that you can just replace that. Is this true.

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions. I still have a sick feeling in my stomach, but my wife feels worse than I do... just a car.

James

Tell your wife she's not alone. I did this a few times myself. It takes some getting used to the length of the front of the "S", especially if you sit low in the seat. I can't help you much in the repiar area.

I do not have an OEM front spoiler so I purchased a lip protector from Coastal Metals. See link below. Apparently they now make them for the OEM spoiler. I am not certain if they make them at all for 04-05 models. It was a great investment even though I am more used to the front now.

Good luck and hope you enjoy your new 05

I know how you feel! My husband put the first scratches on mine Day 3, doing exactly the same thing. He felt so bad....I couldn't stay mad at him.

In Charlotte, the best place is Import Paint and Body on Independence Blvd. They've worked on a lot of S2K's that belong to owner's on this forum and have a sterling reputation. Hendrick Honda does not do body work....they'll send it to Arnold Palmer Cadillac, whom I do NOT recommend.

Import Paint & Body has also allowed our Carolina owners to hold 3 Zaino clinics there, free of charge. Great guys....

Sorry about your new baby; the chin protector is a good idea!

I scraped mine all by myself. I was even stupid enough to do it several times. Luckily, it is all on the under side. Now that the entire front end has been sand blasted, who cares.

Anyway, I'm with Sheila, Import Paint and Body is the place to go. They put a friend's Z3 back together after it got run over by a truck. It looked as good as new.
