I still don't understand this question. Isn't the hardtop standard on the CR, I know only black, and therefore isn't Honda required to continue providing the part for 10 years like any other part on the car? I might be wrong, no one has really answered the question for sure. I don't know what the cost would be but I am sure not cheap.

Because it's not necessary to keep the car in running order, it isn't required for them to provide it. (nor do I think they have to carry anything for XX amount of years at all). It was just a nice option to have for a car, it never was standard besides the CR.

That is what I am saying it is a STANDARD part on the CR. That is the only roof that car comes with. It is the exact same hardtop that goes on any other MY. So couldn't you go to a stealership and order a CR hardtop and put that on your non CR car? I am sure you would have to also buy the hardware from the CR as well.

Like I said I haven't checked into it but doesn't a manufacturer have to provide parts for any model it makes for 10 years? How would the hardtop on the CR be any different then a fender or an alternator?

They don't have to make parts for anything they don't want too. Try and pick up a part for a Saturn, Saab, Pontiac, Hummer, etc. If its a dealer only item like a switch, soleniod, etc. you not getting anything. We have trouble getting parts for lots of cars not close to ten years old all the time. There favorite word is national backorder. At least honda's still in business.

Got it. Wow, it would suck to have a CR and damage the top, its in the garage and the wife runs into it or whatever, I guess you are just SOL.
