Default Anyone driver Saturn Sky Redline

I was just curious is anyone has ever driven a redline version of the Sky. I drove the non turbo version and it just was too slow for my tastes but I actually think the Sky looks much better than the Pontiac version it was based off of.

I was just curious if anyone has driven the redline (turbo) version of the car.

Yep. It's a great car except for the roof.

I drove a regular non-turbo Sky and really didn't care for it. The front fenders are really in obvious as you drive...it feels like one of those soap box derby cars. Normal fit and feel of a GM car...it has a good look...I favor the Sky more than the Solstice...but I also think the Solstice doesn't look bad. I guess the "lineage" of the Solstice makes more sense to me than the Saturn Sky.

During the Summer on our little McDragon gathering, we were fortunate enough to spend some time around them on the most fantastic road ever, the Dragon.

I never got my opportunity to run one...

My best observation was the general age of owners...I'd say a good 75%+ were over 50 years old. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I drove an automatic GXP. I was not impressed.

They are definitely more for an older crowd. The GXP is actually my grandpas.....

I have thought about driving one a few times. but i never quite make it to the point of starting the car. The interior just makes me go Eeehhh and i walk away.

i really dont understand how these sell so well vs the s2000. Maybe its the fact they are more capable of sitting larger/taller people?

I've driven a Redline Sky my friend owns a half dozen times ore so - they are really fun to drive - think S2000 with torque, and imo they are nicer inside than the S.

The stereo is better, there's more room, the seats are comfy. But, the seats are impossible to move with the doors shut (bad engineering), there is NO TRUNK even with the top up (bad engineering) and in order to drop the top, much less put it up, you have to get out of the car (bad engineering).

If GM took the time to make the car correctly, it would be great. Now, its just a fun second car, since you need something else to haul stuff in.

I think the reason the s2000 doesn't sell well is solely because it has a 35,500 MSRP and people are so used to Honda dealers being absolute assholes when it comes to price negotiation.

If the general public knew the majority of s2000's since 2002 sold for 30k OTD it would help its sales. I've had multiple people driving other roadsters tell me that they love the s2k but its too much money. If you build my car on honda.com its >40,000$. It's a nice car but no where near 40,000$.

That being said the car market is so bad right now, how long can Saturn hold their no negotiation policy?
