Default AP1 Center Console

I posted this in the interior section but thought I'd post it here as well. I've seen one with the switch already installed but I can't find the parts at a Honda dealership. Any ideas on this?

My mistake for not referring to which defrost switch I mean. I'm talking about the defroster for the rear window in the soft top.

I would be a complete moron if I didn't know that the defrost for the windshield is where it is.

Your MY00 shouldn't have a defroster at all, bc your back window is plastic. The OEM rear defroster button for the 02-05 models is on the dash bezel as mentioned above. Yours probably has a blank cover. There is a defrost button for AP1 consoles that replaces the pocket that sits directly behind the cupholder. It's part of the MY00-01 hardtop kit. Is that what you were talking about?

Hey, does anybody know how to make the MY00 hardtop switch work? I purchased my new hardtop with the defroster option in a group hardtop event using Jeff of the Hardtop Guy and he could not make it work... said it needed something but does not return e-mails or voicemails... I would like to get this to work if anybody has any helpful hints.

Jim

There are about $300 worth of parts for the defroster kit, including the driver module. Most of the cost is cables, and can be cut if you don't mind soldering straight to the connector pins. I can't seem to find the exploded view I had, but I'll try and find it for you later this evening.

Hradtop Guy AP1 kit

This shows "everything you need". I don't see the control boxes, so maybe their actually in the car right now and I didn't see them. You can see the switch frame. It is plastic welded in and will involve cutting and gluing/plastic welding to replace.

I think the relay for this kit is the small black square piece with the 2 copper prongs and one plastic coated prong towards the bottom (to the right of the hardtop strikers). The switch frame will be a direct replacement for the pocket behind the cupholder. I can't remember, but it either clips in, or it has screw holding it secure from the bottom.
