apexi AFC/vtec problems

I recently bought an apexi vtec/air fuel controller. The guy that hooked it up for me had it on his car and it worked. But when we hooked it up on my s it won't read the vtec or contol it or the air fuel! It only reads the rpms and the throttle %! Any suggestions?

Just 4 ur knowledge... I know very little about the electronics on this car, let alone the ecu. He had the controller on a 240 sx that was turboed

Thanks,

Eric

Is your controller hard wired or plug-n-play? i have one on my S and it works just fine. your best bet is to take it to someone with a dyno and experience with the apexi. if you want to get it right, do that. if your is hard wired, you may not have it wired right. good luck with it.

Is it a VAFC or an SAFC? If it's an SAFC it won't work. VAFC (Vtec Air/Fuel Controller) works on Honda's and Acura's only...

Its a vafc. He only used it on his 240 as a y ban air fuel meter

my guess is u might want to double check the vtec and a/f wires to make sure they are in the right locations on the ecu. pretty simple fix i bet.

I talked 2 the guy with the 240 today. He said that when he put it in my car his wiring diagram didn't show the vtec wire from the ecu on the f series motor. So all he could hook up was the rpms. Is there a wiring diagram that u guys know of 4 this so I could do it maybe this weekend?

contact Apex they should be able to help u out. when i get home ill get the vtec wire pin out from the ecu for ya.
