axle nut retorque
Does anyone know a good shop in the raleigh area that is familiar with retorqing the axle nuts. I spoke to afew shops but no one seems to know what I am talking about. Honda of southpoint said they could do it for $90 an hour and it would take an hour and a half. I think this is way too much to pay. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I believe it's a 36mm socket for the nut itself... You have to unstake the axle nut first, then retorque it to 220 ft.-lbs., then restake it so's it holds at the new specs... Still doesn't guarantee it'll stop creaking and popping though
Just pop the center cap off the rear wheels(while the car is still on the ground of course) to expose the axle nuts...

I got my rear driver's side retorqued last week. It went away for a couple of days, but now is back. Not sure what to do from here or what it could be. I believe my front may be doing it as well. Not all the time though.
Not sure if he retorqued it to 220 spec. He is a good mechanic I believe. Not sure of this issue as of now, still clicking as well. '03 AP1 w/38,000 miles.
