Sooo......that's actually my car. Very sad situation but I really wished I had more testing history on the engine before this. Was hoping to be able to "see it coming" and catch it before it went really bad.

Aw man. I hate to hear that for you. So were there any actual symptoms or you just wanted to get a report done?

BTW, don't know if you've seen this thread or not... https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/111...onthly-report/

Check out the link gave some more info but NO symptoms.

Replaced with a 2002 engine with 16K miles on it! Yes picked up 2012 with 16K miles on the engine of an '02. Parted out whole car put engine in my car and netted a small profit......along with a free engine! Thanks goes to Legal Bill in MA for finding it.

She is now in prep for getting a SC once I lay the groundwork and also make sure the engine is in good working order....so an oil test is in store right now and will again before the end of the summer. SC should go in next winter.

Mine is a 2001, and I drive it as hard as it will go at about 6-8 HPDEs/ year. I installed a magnetic drain plug 2 changes ago, and there was a very small amount of superfine metal on it after my last change. It was my only change after installing the plug, so I have no trend or comparison to other cars. I assumed a small amount was normal, but it has my full attention now. I'll send a sample to be tested ASAP. My first 2015 event is 2/28.

How long does it take to get test results? Is there a way to determine which oiling setup our cars have (model year, VIN, etc)? Is there a way to upgrade the older version? How extensive is the upgrade if available?

Results come within a week or so. They process them as they get them in. Info on that is on their site.

Yes you give them all the details on your car and how long the oil has been in there.

Yes you can upgrade the Banjo Bolts there are DIY's on this. You have to pull the oil pan, oil pickup so it's in there. So it's fairly advanced depending on your level of capability.

IIRC, the new banjo bolts started sometime in early to mid 2002. I remember my engine in my 02 AP1 was good and it was like #6800ish for the year. I know there is more info on the site somewhere. I have been out of the S2k game for I while so I don't remember where exactly.
