Thanks to everyone who made the drive...it was FUN...in spite of all of the POKEY drivers ! There were thousands of cars...EVERYWHERE !!
I hope you all made it home safely.
Snapped a ton of pictures, but trying to drive and take pictures concurrently seems to be a real challenge...to this old-timer ! SO...who knows if I got any good ones...I'll check them out tomorrow.
If I didn't...I'll bet Laura got some good ones...every time I looked I saw her arm pop up taking pictures. Shoot...even sometimes...she popped up to snap some.
We may have to make her the 'official' Carolina's photographer !
Dang that looks like fun. Wish I could have made it but work got in the way. Love that area. First snow of the season and I will be there, no doubt. Of course I'll leave the S at home.
i did the parkway several nights ago before i left carolina to come home for a few days... it was an awesome ride... cept i did it at night... zero traffic... excellent road....
time to add my (not so) few pics...all taken while driving, with a few exceptions:
some nice color
s2ks on the parkway
driving across the viaduct
a few quality mirror shots
don't know what this kid was up to, but i know it was no good...
parked at the mt. mitchell summit (aka honda honda honda honda honda!)
group shot at the summit (yours truly, kim, nathan, raul, steve, anna, blake, and laura)
relax, all these driving shots were taken at approx 22 mph, so i wasn't being reckless. i didn't manage to get any good shots driving down (and up, and down, and up, and down, and up, and....down) hwy 80, as i needed to concentrate a little more on the road (whoops! sorry raul!). anyway, i'm glad you guys came out, those who didn't, you missed a great time!
