Default Blue Top

Well gang. I have been dealing with my convertable top issue since around September of last year, and it finally looks like things are almost back to normal.

What turned out to be a quick fix for some 10 dollar elastic straps to help the bar above my head fold down correctly turned into about 6 months work.
In the end they ended up having to replace not only the first top, but then later on replacing the frame, then replaceing the top again, then replacing the top again due to not installed properly, then a new center console for leather rip while top replacement, as well as both roll hoops because someone broke the plactic off the hoop, (sealed from factory around the metal hoop). This is just the big items they ended up having to buy. All damaged in some way due to incorrect handling. All in all its probably seen maybe 20 days in the shop for what could have been prevented... Oh well. Live and learn. I ended up buying the Helm manual, as I will be doing just about all work myself from now on.
In the end I decided to treat myself to a new blue top for a change of scenery. Anyone else put this on a sebring? She's almost ready for a dragon run......

Dood,

WHY did you have so many problems? If my car had been subjected to such abuse, heads would ROLL.

The blue top looks great. Definately distinctive.

I tried to get the blue top when mine was replaced under warranty, but Honda said black only. The blue looks great on yours.

I've known folks that have "worked with Honda" and while Honda has agreed to replacing the black for blue...the customer was willing to "pay the up-charge" to the cost of the blue top (ie. just the difference out of pocket).

The blue top cost less than a blacktop. Almost $300.00 less when I priced one at the dealer where I bought my car, and the blue top is $150 less than the black at Hardtopguy.

Correct. It is cheaper. Since the dealer had to pay the cost they didn't mind at all. The blue top is officially listed as an "accessory" so most likely its cheaper to give people incentive to swap for blue.

Yeah for older than '02 you'll have to swap for glass top to get Blue.

Yeah... There were days.. MANY days where I was cussing up a storm but never at them. Now that the car is out of warrenty I figured it wasn't good to burn bridges and maybe use this to my advantage.

I used this website to help me decide

It does make the orange corners stick out a bit, so I just bought some JDM clear from Ricks and Wingman has been nice enough to offer a hand. Hummmm Chrome colored projector housing??
