Default Brick fire pit

I'm closing on a house monday and it has this in the backyard:

I'm thinking it would make a great fire pit. I'm gonna get a buddy with a concrete saw to cut it down about halfway. I was thinking of using the left over bricks to build an inner grill. Any thoughts or people on here with experience? Have decided exactly how it should look yet.

Ha ha, that'll be awesome if you make it a fire pit. If you make it a giant grill you can host a S2000 bbq hahaha.

What are the dimensions anyway? And where does that little piece of conduit lead (under the steps against the bricks)?

Can't remember the exact demisions. Something like 4X4 or 5X5. It would make a huge fire pit. I think the conduit is an electrical outlet. Which would be cool. I might have to host a BBQ once I get settled in. It's in Lugoff and sits on 2 lots (about an acre). So, there's plenty of room for parking.

Well, you'll already have wood for it.

This is just me, but I'd probably have the outer bricks cut down and use them as seating and make a smaller circle inside the outer square for the actual pit.

Lugoff isn't too far from where I'm at (Sumter) so if you need some help, give me a shout.

Some kind of playset for kids. It's got a slide and a swing.

just make sure that you wont be violating any fire codes with a fire pit. i know columbia wouldnt let me burn wood and yard sticks in my steel drum because it was a fire hazard... but having a chimnea would be ok. go figure
