Default Buying a s2000

Hello all,

After several years, I am ready to buy my very onw s2000, although I haven't decided to buy a new or used one yet.

If I buy a new car, I would like the groups input on good and poor dealerships in the eastern half of NC, southern VA and northern SC. I live in Raleigh.

If anyone knows of a good used one available, please let me know. I perfer, yellow, white or blue with a glass rear window. A low mileage car would be perferred but I certainly would look at a well mainted higher mileage car.

Any help you could offer would be great.

Thanks,
Perry Barber

If you're buying new, check out hardtopguy.com. At the very least, you can use Jeff's $32195 price to haggle with the local dealers.

I purchased from Hendrick Honda in Easley, SC in January 06 -- $31,100 plus SC sales tax. I did not have to haggle long to get that price, but they wouldn't budge from it either. They are big in NC as well. You may want to check them out in Charlotte.

Also, Honda has brought back the $299 lease deal.

Also, search for the recent thread on prices paid. I tried to find it by no luck, I think it is in S2000 Talk

You might want to consider Carmax if you're looking for a used one. Their website is useful for surveying the market (it shows 10 available in the Raleigh region).

I got my S2000 a couple months ago, through the Greensboro store shipped from their Maryland location. I'm happy with the car and the transaction. Since it was more than $1000 below blue book I didn't mind paying the $150 transfer fee. I also bought my previous car off the lot from the Raleigh Carmax.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Tidalwdave and Bosshog, I'll PM you soon.

I got a chance to go by Leith's Honda and Euro lots here in Raleigh today. The Euro had a nice white 2003 with 20,500 miles priced at $25,760. It was originally a lease car. That may or may not be a concern. Their Honda store only had one on the lot in a color I'm not interested in. They had it priced at $34,500.
