Default car theft :(

So this morning i woke to see my car's rag top torn up. yes my car was broken into unfortunately and luckily they dont know about the "secret compartment". had a few pricey items in there. glad i have comprehensive coverage on my car and they should cover the damage, replace the top rather. so all is well i guess...

Sorry to hear that man... Perhaps get B on here to do a top for you and put the rest of the insurance money towards a hardtop?

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
Did they take anything (seats, steering wheel, shift knob)?

I'm getting lazy_s2k to do it. Best deal in the area, to my knowledge. They did take an iPod, knife, zippo lighter and a pack of gum. All in all it's less than the price of a new top and I had already planned on replacing it after the holidays.

Get an alarm system, i thought about a hard top but its not worth it. i like to put my top up and down too much. Look into any DEI alarm, and get a motion sensor inside (and an interior siren which is so loud you cant stand to be anywhere near the interior) your car, all that will run you something like 600$ and installs are free at the place you buy it usually. Toyo can chime in here.
then with the extra 1400$ or more you have lying around (instead of buying that hardtop) buy a gun(and learn to defend your self), seat locks, and a quick release steering wheel and lock so you can make sure they cant drive away either =D. Also stick stickers on your window advertising the alarm and seat locks. helps to keep people away from even trying.

ive begun gathering things i need to protect my car aswell. to prevent this from happening to me

Gun I'm equipped, sig sauer .40 w/ jacket hollows dude is lucky I didn't see it happen. About a hardtop, prob would be a pain cuz the top goes up and down quite often. Wheel w/ QR hub is a good idea along w/ McGuard seat locks.

Sorry to hear about this buddy. There is nothing worse than thieves. Sounds like you were hit by kids looking for a quick score. Pros would have taken the whole car. My suggestion is don't waste your money on an alarm. Alarms and seat locks are only gonna keep the morons out. If real car thieves want the car that won't even slow them down. I have removed dozens of them from peoples cars that have lost the fob or they just get tired of them constantly going off. It takes me less than 1 minute to disarm most of them and i'm no thief. Don't leave valuable stuff in your car ever, and maybe consider a hardtop, the rest of the stuff is just a waste of money. If they want your car there gonna get it. Keep good, full coverage insurance, and just don't worry about it.

+1, Taurus .38 Special for me, Hornandy redtips critical defense. Also, you can get an alarm fob that alerts you if your car is going off, It will go off like an alarm and wake you up incase you dont hear yours going off. and idc if they can cut your alarm wires, once the fob goes off it dont stop until you respond to it
