Careful, I just saw an 00 si lay down 227 hp to the wheels on a mustang dyno yesterday. Mustang dynos register numbers quite a bit lower than a dyno jet. This kid drove from Mississippi to let Jack at P1 do a little tuning.
I had an 02 civic si ep3 with Spoon exhaust and b pipe and AEM cai. I also had a grip of suspension, sway bars, and tie bars and 15" Rotas. That thing was pretty quick for what it was and if you let off the throttle in a hard corner, you could get the rear to step out. It was a lot of fun. I would've seriously regetted selling it had I not traded for an S 2000. If I were you, I'd look for an 02 or 03 unless you must have the 5 lug and the ugly head and tail lights. They can be had for next to nothing. Trade in is 10 grand or less now.
Not to hijack your thread, but here was Blackie, my beloved ep3...

I actually like the '04 re-style on the Si. Besides, I'll be leasing it as the residual is excellent on the Civic with the Si during their "clearance" promotion.
15k miles per year for $250 per month w/ $500 down.
Total cost of the Si after 36 mos. = $9,500
Used vehicles (like Civics and Corollas) are easily in the $10k mark w/ 55k+ miles and no warranty. It would take me 36mos+ to pay off that loan and at the end, I'll have a vehicle with 100k miles.
This lease seems perfect for me.

In fact, my 2nd car may be an '04 Civic Si.
