Default Clutch Install

hey folks

so my clutch chose this weekend (at the raleigh hardtop meet, no less) to start acting its age (146k.) i like to do most of my own work, but i think i'll leave this to a professional. anyone got any suggestions for good quality shops near/around charlotte to do an install?

at the moment i'm thinking i'll take it to kevin at hondaworks, but i'd like to hear if anyone has any other ideas.

Oh hell, I'm at 53k and I'm starting to slip at high RPMs. I'm buying a new clutch today, and installing it this weekend.

i can't remember. i had him price it a while back, but the clutch has been holding up fine and i haven't really worried about it til now. saturday during some hard driving it started getting to where it didn't feel like it was completely engaging at higher speeds/rpm, and was getting difficult to get in and out of gear.

i have an AP1 with 19k on it that i'm gonna put in...i bought it on here for $50! (friction disk, pressure plate, AND FLYWHEEL!)

what do you charge?

i guess i shouldn't complain...i'm at about 146k and no problems up til now. i think i'm due

Kevin knows his shit

If there was something that I couldn't do with my past Honda's, I took it to him. I haven't talked to him in quite a while though.

I would recommend him very highly though.

I did mine myself...NO FUN. It sucked. But yeah there is a shop here in fort mill that will do labor for $315. I had my last car's clutch done there and my frend had his s2k done there. But yeah you can supply the clutch and they can reserface ur oem flywheel or u can provide a new one. But yeah took like 2 days. Worth it, good deal and good guys

$50 for a clutch and flywheel, you can't beat that deal.
