10 bucks is quite excessive for an oil filter. You can get one from hardtopguy for 5.69 and at the same time support a site sponsor.

you know what? it cost 26 dollars for my first visit in my s to get an oil change....i bought it new.....but the second time I went they charged me 79.99 for oil change and all this other crap including tire rotation. They knew they cant rotate my tires so I asked them what the price will be since they cant rotate my tires.......their answer? THE SAME! that didnt make too much sense for me, and im not sure what they could do to my car in the second time its ever been up for an oil change. but thats my story and Im not sure if i got screwed or not

I take my own oil, 10W-30 Mobil1 Syntehtic in every time I need an oild change. The dealership chrages me a very reasonable $15 for the service. It's worth it as I don't have the time to perform the changes myself. Also, I trust the tech that works on my S2000 every time. My baby now has 57k miles and has had ONLY Mobil1 used since she hit 10k miles.

If you figure on Mobil1 being about $4.50 a quart and needing roughly 5 quarts, that's $22.50 in oil alone with another $15 between filter and labor. Not to mention that the tech takes his time looking over my brake lines, pads, rotors, rear differential fluid level, tranny fluid level and washer fluid. With the syntehtic, I space my changes every 5k miles or so.

Well, let me be the first to tell you, YOU GOT SCREWED! Your 2nd oil change should never have cost $70+. Verify your receipt. If it's been a few weeks, I would go back and ask for your money back.

Nevertheless, have this be a lesson earned. If it feels wrong, it probably is.

Yep... If I remember correctly, Breakaway gets just under $30 for an oil change. I gave them a chance, and they failed. They got oil drips all over the engine and intake manifold, and set my air pressure in my tires to 28psi on all 4 wheels. I've changed it myself since the first one.

C'mon over to the house and we'll fix that right up. I need to change my oil this weekend anyway.
