damn tkt!!!
OK, so whats the deal. I havent had to deal w/a speeding tkt in like 5 years. I got tagged for 15 over.

As far as i know I can get reduced to 9. which will get me a couple of points on my lisence, but no insurance? Is that right? if so:
- whats the usual damage...$$$?
- what do points on your lisence mean? And how long do they linger?
Now the last tkt i got like 5 yrs ago i took a prayer for judgment. So that cleared. I know that is my other option, but as for some reason I seem to find my self driving a little bit more agressively in my S than my truck.
, and would like to avoid having to worry about any tks screwing me for double damage for another 3 years.

Any way, Im quite sure i am not the first one to get a tkt around this level and am looking for advice on the best way to handle it. That being no insurance recognition, least amt of pts, least amt of money, and if i can help it avoid a PJC.

thanks yall.

If you get the 9 over, you'll not incur any insurance points BUT depending what company you use, they may still charge you a penalty. I got a ticket for 44 in a 35
and even though no points were charged on my policy, Progressive increased my premium by like $50 each 6 months. I work for NC Farm Bureau so I checked with one of our underwriters. She said Farm Bureau doesn't do it but it is legal for an insurance company to charge a penalty for a violation even if no points are charged. As far as the PJC, I wouldn't use it if you can get 9 over, even if you insurance goes up a little. Save the PJC in case you get a ticket for something more serious.

I would take the PJC if you can, and if you get another ticket during the PJC probation period, hire an attorney and have them reduce the ticket to improper equipment violation. That's what I did with my past ticket. It was around $250.00 in fees and no points or insurance increase.
Bottom line, check with an underwriter for your insurance company(make sure you get their name) and find out if they will charge you anything for a 9 over ticket. If they won't charge, take the 9 over. If they will charge and the cumulative increase over the next three years is more than what a lawyer will charge if you have to hire one for a second ticket in the next three years, take the PJC.

Yea man screw the Cary 5.0, they snagged me for 79 in 45 in February. This was my first ticket, accident, anything EVER. I got it reduced to 60 in a 45, used my PJC and got 24 hours of community service. No insurance points, no points on my license.
