OK folks. Just thought I would give you an update on our vacation to Australia. We were there for 9 days, visiting Brisbane and Sydney. The first night in Sydney we had dinner with Diego and Sue. We had a great time. Diego is doing well, adjusting to his new home and Sue seems to be happy as well. Diego and I talked about cars, S2000s(duh) and what the car situation is like in this country. Car ownership is discouraged by the government thru the use of some pretty steep tax rates, especially if the value of the car new exceedss 50k. For reference a used 2000 model S2000 was listed in the Sydney paper for approx $40k Australian. So figure a new S2000 is around $70k I think. I could not quite grasp the pricing structure. For additional insight a new Porsche Cayenne turbo is selling for $199,000! Gas is sold in litres at around 92 cents per when we left. I think the conversion is 3.8 litres to 1 gallon. Anyway Australia was awesome! We saw some beautiful sights and had a great time. I will post more pics and info later. I hope everyone had a great time at Wake the Dragon. See everyone at the next event.
They discourage automotive ownership and there's been no REBELLION!!!???!!!
I could not function. Or I would at least own a few banks in the area to make up for any price issues. I think it's totally awesome...
...wait...
Honestly, words really can not describe how cool it is/must be to reunite with S2000 owners (current and previous) on the other side of the globe. Could Honda have predicted the love for this automobile would have strangers meeting and becoming friends? I love it and best to everyone. Wish I could make the trip!
Did you take a look at Diego's Roadster? How about any marsupials trotting about? Are they that difficult to pose for a photo?
I have pictures of kangaroos, koalas and wombats. I will post them later. No I did not hold a koala; they do not like to be held even by the handlers. I saw one guy get scratched pretty badly when he picked one up. But they are cute to look at. Right now I am in Orlando for a convention so I won't be posting much for a while. I am thinking about the summer get together that has been suggested so I hope we can finalize a date soon. Have a great weekend everyone.
