Seriously, a great offer. But also consider that w1ngman has performed 100's of installations/removals of the headlights and their diffusers.

While the job itself is not complicated, it is one that requires your commitment to doing the job right and Dave (w1ngman) certainly does just that. I've been with him at a few of the install days and he is very focused on what is being done and works on your S as if it were his very own.

FREE vs. $1?? is a tough decision, but just make sure you have considered all the facts before you make a decision on your $34k roadster.

I've gotta agree with Raul.

W1ngman has done two cars for me and, if I needed another one done, I'd get Dave to do that one too.

He brings experience, a _meticulous_ attention to detail and a concern for the satisfaction of his customers that is hard to beat.

I think his fee is cheap insurance to avoid the possibility of a damaged or leaky headlight. Plus, it's always a great way to get together with some fellow owners.

Hey USC, I too am interested in getting my corners cleared. I am located in Charlotte. Any other folks in the neighborhood interested in getting the orange out? I could even do it in Raleigh. I could do it in Columbia, I could eat green eggs and ham...oops, I regress. sorry about that...

Shucks, I might just go to the W1NGMAN.

Anyway, we need about 5 or 6 to get the W1NGMAN down for a weekend. If you are interested, please post.

Thanks all!

Jamie

I ordered the smoked diffusers from Rick's last night. I am getting ready for the corner clearing. Where and whenever it happens.....

Well...since you are obviously willing to deliberately attempt to submarine my side-business, I'll bite:
  • If you're suggesting folks ship their headlamps to you and you do their conversion for free...why will you spend 2+ hours of your life (for each conversion pair shipped to you)...unpackaging, clearing out, sealing, setting up, repackaging, and sending to a shipper these nice folks headlamps...and do the conversion for free? Nice guy? Okay...folks, get Mike to do your conversions for you.

  • If you're suggesting folks drive to you and you'll do their conversion for free...why will you spend 4+ hours of your life (for each car that arrives)...removing the bumper, braces, headlamps, clearing out, sealing, setting up, reinstalling, realigning headlamps & bumper [typically even better than factory]...and do the conversion for free? Nice guy? Okay...folks, get Mike to do your conversions for you.

  • If you're suggesting to folks that if you up their headlamp conversion, that you've invested in backup headlamps to assure them that their conversion meets their satisfaction at no additional cost to them...and you'll do their conversion for free? Nice guy? Okay...folks, get Mike to do your conversions for you.

  • If you're suggesting to folks that you've done 1, 2...I don't know...5 buddies' civics for them, and now you're willing to be responsible for a $30K vehicle...and you'll do their conversion for free? Nice guy? Okay...folks, get Mike to do your conversions for you.

  • ...am I missing anything?

Look, obviously Mike you feel the compulsive need to bulldoze this thread. Not sure what I've done to pester you in this life or a past one...but I find it hard to believe you would do hundreds of conversions and do them all for free. You'd accept all liability (best deal...$700 for a pair of headlamps if 'goofed'). You'd be responsible for any moisture problems for 90 days...and would go to whatever lengths to assure that your buddies are taken care of, completely out of pocket, on your time, and at your buddies' convenience. You do all that...and have the 100% perfect reputation that I have with this community. You'd do all that...and do it for free...and I'd salute you. Go forth and clear everyone for free.

For anyone interested in my services...send me a PM. I'll assemble a spreadsheet of interested parties and work towards a meet point, host, etc. off this Carolinas community board. It will be more difficult without a community thread to be reviewed and updated. But obviously I'm not going to receive the decent respect that this forum use to proffer.

Best Regards,

Dave "w1ngman" Parker

Dave,
Consider the source of the negative comments and ignore them. The person making the offer to do them for free doesn't have a clue on many levels. Keep up the good work. Those of us that have seen you work appreciate your abilities and will speak up on your behalf when the need arises.

If you want to be SURE it'll be done right, let Dave do it for ya... 'nuff said!
