Default Electric supercharger

http://www.boosthead.com/home.php

They say these things should be limited by the user to 5-6 psi, but CAN do 20 psi if you are stupid enough. I am totally thinking of buying one. You are supposed to switch it on and off yourself kind of like a nitrous kit. They work for 15 second bursts, powered by extra batteries. $1695 is looking really tempting since I dont drive too crazy most of the time. The elise doesnt have too many available options, and I believe s2000 stuff is expensive too last time i checked.

why is it a pos though? if it pumps out 6 psi when i activate it, that sounds like a great deal! Have you all seen this video? Its some dudes putting a leaf blower and nitro on a civic and a truck. I think its bad ass.

Seriously though, from someone who has engineered or tinkered around with forced induction, what specifically makes this one a pos? I am obviously new to this, but just saying its a pos doesnt really convince me. There are loads of electric superchargers out there that add 1 psi, but this is not one of them! The biggest difference I see just performancewise is that you cant run it all the time. Other than that, it pushes the same amount of air as any other good forced induction machine. Anyone selling something like this is is going to hype it as much as they can, but they claim 1000 hours of usage before it breaks. That is way longer than I plan on having the car.
