Elise
stokes honda in North Charleston has an orange 06 elise on the lot. 3k miles asking 43,900. stopped by to look at it, the salesman said the guy they got it for never showed up, beautful car but very impractical for me. He also said they had a GPW CR showed up yesterday and sold the same day. Who bought it?
I <3 elises. I've promised myself that I would get one as a birthday present when I'm 30 (unless something better comes along), which means I need to lose weight and save up some money. Still have another 5+ years for that though. I know some of the sales guys at Lotus of Durham (they sponsor local autocrosses) so I'm hoping they may let me take a fun run in one of their cars this year.

My next-door-neighbor (Charlotte) owns Sector 111, the after market supplier for Lotus. He has an orange elise with the ground effects stuff on it. I was lucky enough to drive his car on the dragon and on the skyway... incredible. We were on the skyway very early one morning (no other cars). They went ahead a couple of miles and then I would run the car up through the gears until I caught them... I was able to do about 10 runs that way. The faster I went, the more the car stuck... just like the S, the car comes alive when the cam comes in. I love my S, but getting back into it after driving the elise, I could really appreciate the effects that weight/mass have on performance. My only complaint about the car is that lever throw with gear change is very long and, at times, unprecise. It reminded me of a Beck Spyder with the reverse cable mechanism hanging off the back of the transmission. All the other controls were so instant/responsive, it seems odd that Lotus couldn't make the thing shift a little better. Minor issue in a car that is so amazing....

Sector 111 makes very nice stuff. I first saw them on a Discovery HD show or something that was talking about Lotus and Mini and others... Their ti exhaust is awesome as is the carbon wing
