Default Elise Gets More Expensive

'Highlander,

Does this affect your car?

From AutoBlog:

Yup. MSRP is now $43860 for a base car. In fact, I just got the call from Lotus of Atlanta to actually place my order, so it's officially decision time.

Actually, the MSRP was raised on September 1 2004, by $960, then the $2k increase hit on Jan 1, 2005. My number above includes the $860 delivery fee.

Good luck!

I hope you get the car you want but we'll be _really_ happy if we keep you in the S2K fold!

Is the Elise $11,000 better that the S2000?

I guess I'll find out in about 5 months. In all honesty, for street driving, I can answer that with a resounding 'No'. Lust isn't exactly a logical thing though, and my reasoning of 'If I were ever going to get one, now is the time' , is still valid.

Lotus Racing Green w/ Biscuit (tan) interior -- March build, May/June delivery.

I'll buy some stick-on honda badges and tell everyone it's a 'prototype body kit' if I have to, but I ain't gonna skip hanging out with you guys.

Understood. Don't get me worng, I look forward to a ride in it. I take it that you placed your order. Congratulations. We will have to have a special Dragon trip once you have the Elise properly broken in and ready for serious action.

So you know now (and I save you the embarrasment later), you will not be welcomed (or allowed) to any of our S2000 meets, events or drives. This includes our "tech-days," Wake the Dragon, DragonBall Run, Outer Banks Run and any monthly Meet, Eat and Drives. Also, Fall Colors is a NO-NO!

Kidding man!!! Don't leave us!!!

Yep. I placed my order at about 10:00 this morning. Yes, rides will be given freely and in abundance once she's broken in.
