Florence Autocross
Just thought I'd mention the upcoming autocross this Saturday in Florence, SC. I'm planning on being there and I believe that SC_Highlander will be also. Anyone else going? I figured it's a good place to meet some folks...

Bryan, it was good meeting you as well. I'll try not to be in such a hurry to get out next time either... It was a frustrating day for me so I was ready to pack it up and head home! Are you planning on going to the fairgrounds events?
I'll be there for the June 7th event and the Divisional in Atlanta... Not sure about July 19th though. I'm going to be out of town either the 3rd or 4th week of July -- not sure which. My last 3 runs sucked -- I was loose all the way around the course and kept hitting the same damn cone near the finish. I'm not sure if my tires were overheated or if I was just pushing too hard. I apparently hit a cone on my fastest run eariler in the day too, although it would not have mattered. Ryan still had me by 0.05 seconds even if my 47.29 had been clean.
Oh well...

Were you hitting that inside cone on the last hard right? I got it on my last 2 runs! My best time of the day was a fun run... 49.065. I think my best recorded time was a 50.551 or something like that... I guess it's not too terrible for the Bridgestones.
I think my car is looking for a new driver.
I'll plan on seeing you in a month then! Hopefully I'll remember to open my eyes next time!

Yep. That cone was my downfall on 2 or 3 runs. I also hit the last cone of the short slalom a couple of times. The bridgestones are pretty darn good tires, but if they overheat it's not pretty. I cooked a set of rears at the first CCR event of the season -- my tires looked like they had hundreds of little rubber bands hanging from the tread.
That's the day I decided to bite the bullet and get the Victoracers.

Yeah, one of these days I may break down and buy an extra set of wheels and tires... I got to experience a set of VictoRacers on a Spyder at the Dragon. I was amazed. The guy driving hit 84mph at one point and it was a midnight run! He hardly had to hit the brakes going into the turns. It was a fun ride!
