HG replacement for Accord V6 in Myrtle Beach

HG replacement for Accord V6 in Myrtle Beach
Hey all.
My brother just called me, and he needs a new HG in his '01 Accord V6. He has the car at a mechanic who quoted $1900 for the replacement, including water pump and a new radiator. Option 2 is to get a newer engine with 24K miles for $2200.
The Accord has 97K mi. on it and has a 100K warranty, however we are not sure if it's a Honda one. If it's aftermarket, the mechanic says it may not cover the repairs. My brother is trying to find out.
Anyway, if anyone knows of a good mechanic in the area, or Honda shop, I'd appreciate it so I can look into it for him. He's technically in Longs, and is a police officer with Horry County.
