Default Hunt for new car

Well a week ago my car decided it wanted to give someone or something a kiss and it ended up being a tree about 80% as wide as the car lol. I walked away completely fine just rattled with a body nose and some shock. I was driving down a snow packed road right outside the city limits when the Audi decided the back tires should push out to the right. Well I counter steered and the tires caught something as the car went right suddenly and I tried to counter steer against that but my front right tire hit the deep snow pack wet snow(about 8" deep) and pulled my car of the road into a tree at about 40 mph. Airbags went off, front end crushed and the speedo cracked in half…yes really. So I am on the hunt for a new daily and I think I picked a reasonable car with some performance and dependability as I can get an extended warranty for up to 100K miles lol. http://rubford.com/C...e-Car/22737552/

Wow, glad you're ok! When I was reading I first thought 'No! not the S!'.

I bet the ST is a fun car and the hatchback means it'll be useful as well. The only other car I would cross shop is a wrx (non-sti) hatchback but those are both more expensive and harder to find.

Sorry to hear, but glad you were able to walk away safely.

my wife got a 2013 Mazdaspeed3 recently and if I lost my s2000 I would probably be ok with a hothatch as a replacement. A little more livable for a daily driver, and having torque is fun lol. If I wasnt looking for the ms3 the Focus ST would be next on my life, heard good things about it.

Sorry to hear about the car but least you are fine! Looking at the focus interior reminds me how dated the s2k is getting lol.

Are you going to part it out? [diff kit]

The S is safely on jack stands in the storage unit with the wheels and tires in my apt, so no part out and if that were to happen I would buy another S2k for cheap and swap everything out lol. Yeah walked away with no injuries and no slack from the state police either so I was happy. The MS3 is good but the fuel mileage is less than the ST along with the WRX…yeah it has AWD but I would only use that 4 months out the year. The other 8 months it would just drained MPG lol…I did look and I can find them but not for the same price as the ST…being as most WRX don't have the heated seats with the same price as the ST and they would all have way higher mileage as well. I would go back to the EVO if it had above 25 mpg but thats just not happening lol. The MS3 is great but no heated seats, thats a big thing to me up here as it gets really cold up here! For the last week it has been in the negatives all day everyday and yesterday was a high of 21 finally so heated seats are a big thing for me lol.
