Default Hyper white lights for cleared lenses

I am going to buy some hyper white 194 lights for the bottom turn signal lights and wondered if anyone else wants to get in on this and save shipping. This fixes the yellowish light that the stock light produces. Turn on your headlights and check out the yellow glow next to the hids. I found a site that has a large supply. Check this site out http://www.autotoys.com/Storefront/storefront.htm then choose bulbs - bulbs!!!!! - interior & turn signals - interior 194/168. Ones to note are 2, 5, & 27. They are hyperwhite to match but not blue in color. You can check out all of them, but those are the ones I will choose from. If we order $50 shipping is only $5, if no one is interested, then I guess I will just buy them. Let me know in the next week or two.

Is it legal to NOT have amber lights? Thinking that it is, I opted to spray paint amber bulbs with silver high-temp paint covering the top half and end of the bulb. The bulb totally disappears until its lit and them it glows amber.

Dave please clarify...you indicated that you wanted to by some hyper whites "...for the bottom turn signal lights..."

Are you talking about the FAT "upper" turnsignal bulb that sits behind the [typically] diffused area, or are you talking about the small "lower" running/parking light bulb that sits below it in the same area?

These?

Or these (but blue'd)?

Sorry to butt in, Dave...but I'm only asking because I've seen folks post that they've installed certain aftermarket "hi-intensity" bulbs (something "Polar G" or similar name comes to mind) that have melted/deformed Rick's diffusers. Be sure about this before you purchase if you have Rick's diffusers. A quick e-mail to Rick Hesel should clarify what to be leary of. I'll try e-mailing him (so he doesn't get a barrage of e-mails all the sudden...

"No" to Phil's question (I think......he worded it in such an architech's way ). In the state of NC it is NOT legal to NOT have amber turning indicators. How's that! Here's what NC law seems to state based on a quick Yahoo! search:

[I]All motor vehicles produced since 1955 must have red or amber lights that engage when the brakes or turn signals are used

I read it as the small running light below the turn signal. Hence the "yellowish white" issue being cleared. But yeah, dave, can you shoot me the link of the exact bulb, so i can see it? thanks.

Rather than bug Rick, I dug around on the boards and found this ==> link <== to that fellow's bulbs that ruined his aftermarket diffusers. Actually, there is lots of good info within the thread as well regarding what bulbs *to* get and from where, etc.

If it *is* the small wedge bulb that HKStallion is suggesting, then I've liked the idea of the 194 LED bulbs you can get at Autozone. Some folks use them in their sidemarkers as well.

Again, be cautious! I'd say that with information like this now available to folks, that Rick won't want/need to be as generous as he was with this individual when he ruined his diffusers .

Here you go, direct link to LED lights, should be very low heat for diffusers

Not sure what "double-wattage" amounts to...but that it also indicates "low heat" it *should* be okay. Keep in mind, however, these bulbs (i.e. the parking/running lights) stay on all the time that the "first notch +" is clicked over on the headlights actuator...whereas folks that use this same style bulb for their side-markers are only activating the bulb (and any associated heat) for as long as the turnsignal is actuated. Does that make sense?

Again...taking the manufacturer for their word (what words were in English anyway ) I'd say these should do fine without causing concern/heat/damage.
