Default Insurance question

Hey guys, s2k n00b here.

I'm graduating college this may and already have a job lined up making good money in Columbia. I'm now looking for a new car, and am completely in love with the s2k. I was wondering what most of the people on here were paying for their insurance. I'm 22 with no accidents and 1 ticket (almost 2 years ago). I know my insurance will be expensive, I'm just wondering if there is anyone similar in South Carolina who can steer me toward a good insurer.

Thanks!

I pay about $1600/yr for my S and a 1990 Isuzu trooper. 28, no accidents, no tickets through USAA. It would be about $100 less per year without the trooper. My S will be up for sale before too long, and I'd love to see her go to a board member. PM me if you're interested.

SlackerUSC,

I'm in the same boat with you. I'm looking to get a S in January so I started looking into insurance and stuff. The best deal i've found right now is with State Farm. And for the record, im 24, with a clean driving record and 1 ticket about 2 years ago also.

I got the qoute to be around $150 a month. Once I turn 25 though, it drops to $90 a month.

Only thing to consider for this quote is I selected to have a $1000 deductable. Prolly would be a little higher if you wanted your deductable to be lower.

On a side note, where did you graduate? USC?

If you are a AAA member, ask them for a quote. They work with different insurers and can give you a competitive rate amongst many different insurers. I went this route and Traveler's gave me the best rate. About 2 months ago, I got mail from AIG (they are getting into the auto insurance business) and switched to them b/c they had Traveler's beat for $200 a year. The thing to know is to shop around with different insurers.
