im in wake county...well when i bought this car back in fl i got it as a stolen and recovery and i know the smog pump wasnt on the car along with the stock airbox... I did manage to get the air box, but no pump...is this gonna be a big problem?
Wake county is one that requires the emissions test. I'm sure your problem cause your car not to pass. Get in touch with some local S2K people. Maybe they can help. I am about 60 miles east of you.
Just went through this a couple of months back. I also moved up from S. Florida. Tips to follow:
1) Get your Driver License first (you will need it to register your car(s)). You will have to take a road sign test and written test.
2) Go to a Tag office and get your license plate(s). They have a highway use tax (kinda like Florida's impact fee, years back) 2-3% of the value of your car.
3) You now have 10 days to get your car inspected. Things they check:
- Tinting 35% or higher
- Lights
- Horn
- Signals
- OBD2 port.
The tip on the OBD2 test is if you have a CEL (check engine light) on you will fail. If you know for a fact you are missing something in the emissions system get it resolved before. Ask a local honda dealer if the missing part will cause a problem. If something was missing I would think that a CEL would be thrown due to a problem with missing info.
The whole charge is $30 or $40 if you have tint.
Good luck!
