Looking for a new Job
There's a App. Development Supervisor position open, internal-only, at our nuclear plant in Jenkinsville, SC. ~110 miles, round trip from Rock Hill, I guess. If you're interested, I'll keep an eye on it to see if it goes external. I'd guess pay would be in the 80's to 90's.

Keep me posted if it goes external, but a quick mapping is about 75 mi one way, which I would do before I relocate since my son is in the middle of his junior year in HS.
Thanks

Our whole division is being shut down, but from what I hear, the IT market in Charlotte is pretty good right now. I guess I'll see what happens.
Damn...that certainly sucks...
We'll keep our fingers crossed for 'ya Mark!!
Funny how much job huntin' is going on...
Everything in SunCom Charlotte is in marketing... the only IT position is in Berwyn, PA as a Senior IT Systems Engineer. Amazing...we usually have some openings... I'll keep my eyes open for you!

Well, it's not really in Jenkinsville, I guess. That's just where everyone says it is... It's basically sitting on the south shore Lake Monticello. I just put a dot right on it as a end-point and down-town Rock Hill as a start-point and it was ~67 miles. So, I guess it's about 130, round-trip. Nothing a 30+ mpg beater can't handle.
As for being in the middle of nowhere, I guess they tend to build nuclear power plants in those areas. Nobody wants to live next to them apparently, so property value isn't the greatest in that neck of the woods.

US LEC/PAETEC will be hiring post-merger for a number of positions, one of the "regional HQ's" is in Charlotte (I believe that's what my building will be called?). I'd keep an eye out as rumor has it our IT people are very well-paid.
Good luck - when is your "elimination" date?
