well, im really thinking about it...

i checked out a loft yesterday and i really liked it even though it was a bit smaller than i wanted. just wondering if anyone can give me some recommendations where to live in uptown or want to recommend
any other cool places to live in charlotte. i really need a loft or something close because i'll have a small photo studio in it. ie. background and a few lights nothing too major. ~1500-2000 square feet is ideal

help me out

heres a pic from the place i checked out...nice bedroom view

I really like this area, I'm sure you would enjoy it.

I don't know anything about uptown, but I have a co-worker that just moved uptown, and another ex-co-worker that used to live up town that I could put you in touch with.

PM me and give me your contact info, and I'll get it to them if you like.

My co-worker wants a z4, but he's into the status bimmer thing rather than a performance car, although he never turns down a ride at lunch

Good luck finding a good location, and I hope you make the move.

I've really enjoyed the Charlotte area since I've been up here(six months). I live in a nice apt off independence, closer to Monroe and I work on Monroe Rd/7th St., so that's really convenient. I don't know too much about uptown other than the 'Fox and Hound' rocks. Ri Ra's too! You'll love it up here, let me know if I can help with anything.

My buddy said that inside the loop, look at 4th ward or 1st ward, outside the loop, dilworth or meyers park.

As they say... location, location, location. I would stay as close to the center city as possible. Of course, I am bias since that was my choice. There are great condos on N. Church & Poplar streets between 5th and 7th. Prices and sizes vary.

The first ward area is really picking up along N. Davidson and I know many people who have great lofts that have great views.
Looks like you have found the South Blvd area along the trolley route, my personal second choice. This link has some infomytownhome.com)

Either way Charlotte is a fun town with lots to do. When you get here, take your S up to the noth side of the county and practice on some twisties... Good Luck.

OK, specify the twisties roads please

Are they within an hour's drive from uptown?

Nice picture from our seventh floor terrace here at the Charlotte Cotton Mills. I moved into Cotton Mills about two months ago and love it! This place has lot's to offer and I would not think twice if I had to choose again. Three words; location...location...location. A 15 minute walk can get you anything your heart desires (well almost anything). Love football? Just step outside and on the corner a scalper is awating your money for a ticket to the big game. Pour your drink in a cup and grab a buzz as you walk to the stadium. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I gather that you did find cotton mills as a whole small in apartment size but you did find an open apartment that has 2000 sqft. Is it on the 10th floor and does it face the pool? If not it has to be on the 3rd floor. There is one large 2/2 on the 10th floor that my friends are moving out of very soon and the only other large apartmets that I know of are on the 3rd floor.
