Default My dyno run

This was my dyno run from our Saturday get together at P1Auto. I also had two quarter mile times:

14.3 sec @ 96.37
14.3 sec @ 97.11

Just thought some of you might be interested.

I'm happy with it.

i wouldn't say 10% less from mustang to dynojet. all dynos will read the same, or similar, numbers assuming they are run by competent people and the equipment is calibrated properly. 10% lower would mean the car would show an extra ~36hp on a dynojet. in reality, it would show about 2-3% difference, but the differences in atmospheric conditions may account for that.

example, bmw e36 m3, 96-99, just about all turn from 200-215 on a dynojet, mustang, and dynapack.

having worked with my own dyno for a year and comparing numbers daily sort of opened my eyes to the fact that cars do what they are going to do on a dyno, regardless of what dyno it is. it's usually the equipment or operator that messes with things to get an optimistic number, like overcompensating for sae corrections to yeild a higher corrected figure or spiking a car on a dynojet.

Ok axc... Speaking of an m3 which I had one previously to the s2k the stock HP figures on the same dyno that rad got his done on was 190hp@ the wheels(m3)!!! Also I had 180hp on(s2k) a mustang dyno and 199 on a dynojet so that's how I figured out 10% difference because it was and also the guy that actually installs these bad boys (mustang dyno's)told me the same thing so that's were I got my facts!!! ~nate
***and also 10% higher would show 18hp difference not 36hp difference that would be a 20% difference !!!***~nate

Gotta agree with Nate here. I've had my GS400 on three dynos (two Dynojet and one Mustang at P1). My Dynojet numbers were consistently much higher than the Mustang.

At P1 (Mustang), my GS only dyno'd at 213 RWHP and 262 ft-lbs TQ. On a Dynojet without my high-stall torque converter locked down I pretty consistently put down 245 RWP and a little over 300 ft-lbs TQ.

Mybad, no mods. I have never been able to justify the expense for what usually are dubious gains. Stock is good enough for me. I bought my S because Honda did all the modifications for me. That said, I believe there are always "production variations" on any make and model of car. You never know if you bought a "good" one or a bad one without a dyno. besides which driver skill and technique usually have a much greater impact on a car's ultimate performance.
