My top broke!
Sad sad sad... I was crying like a baby...
Sunday morning on the way to church, it was so nice and pretty. Common sense we started to pull the top down. The top went down 2/3 of the way and got stuck for a split second. then we heard a pop sound
and the top went down. I was like "WHAT THE F WAS THAT?!!!" (tried not to curse on the way to church). pull the top back up and we saw an inch wide cut and the latches fell down... WHY DOES IT HAPPEN TO ME!!! I take care of my car like a baby...
did some search on the forum found out that it would cost me 1500 bucks or so to have it fixed!!!
Anyway, the car is still under warrenty, I have ZERO mod except for the Rick's badges. Took it in the dealership today and they told me that they dont have the parts around. I am just hoping they will cover it under warrenty at this time and I dont mind if I have to leave the car there for a week or more... (i will miss it of course)... but this just ... HEARTBREAKING!!!

I am lucky but I am just a little uneasy and worry about warrenty won't cover and have to go through all kind of trouble... Hopefully things go smooth from here... I have been having good experience at Crown Honda south point so far but this is the first time to have something cover under warrenty...
Seeing how youve only had it for 2 months or so, they shouldnt give you too much hastle over it. Btw, cant remember but does yours have the glass windshield (coulnt remember if 'o2 had them or if they started in '03). But if you dont it would be a good thing to make them replace it with the glass rear window.
Mine is already the glass rear window, I talked to them yesterday and the warrenty is taking care of it. As far as I know so far. They told me they are going to replace the WHOLE top. I think that's good since the car is 3 years old and I can see some wear at where the frame is at. It is still heart breaking to see it broke like that... I have to be extra careful with the new top when I get the car back... It is going to be around a week before they get the top since they dont keep the top in stock.

They don't know... I dont know either... My wife and I were trying to have the other latch on and put the top down or put the latch in and pull the top down but nothing happenes... It doesn't look possible for the top to get stuck in the latch but I guess it happens... I think I will find out more about it at the end of this week when they get the new parts and start to remove the top. I want to find out what happened and make sure no mistake is made again if it was ever a mistake...
OH MY FREAKING... Dealership just called me and tell me that they will only cover my latches but not the top!!! the latches is only 200 bucks but the top is 2300!!! WHAT THE HELL! I just called Honda Customer Relation and they say they will get the regional case manager to look into it and let me know what's up.. THAT IS BS!!! They say the acknowledge the problem with the latches but the software was not defected. It was a consequence damage... BS!!! If their latches didnt break, my top wouldnt have a hole... It is like when a person died and the life insurance will only pay enough to cover the heart since it was a heart failure... then why do we need life insurance? Ok... maybe it is a bad example... but I think my reason is reasonable... Anyway, I am ready to fight all the way because that 2000 bucks is not coming out of my pocket.
