Default Need A Lawyer In NC

I got a ticket heading back from Robbinsville on US 129. I'm seeking legal counsel that is local to the area and preferably has experience at the Robbinsville GDC. If you know anyone or have any advice as to what I can expect in NC, I would appreciate it.

To avoid the inevitable question -- the charge was 75 in a 55. [G.S. 20-141(J1)]

I also got pulled. Except I was going the OTHER way down 129 on the TN side. Actually on 411. I was going something like 80+ in a 55.

The cop let me off since i was out of state (and maybe because my top was down and it was about to rain?) I never speed on 129 on the NC side because well i figure i played my dangerous game on the Dragon enough already. it would SUCK to be going triple the speed limit on the dragon only to get busted for a few over in some small town.

Anyways rule of thumb. DO NOT speed anywhere where there are people living. K.

I am sure you'll get it resolved. Just pay a lawer and rock on. Stay safe next time.

Best I can do for you is a lawyer I used when I got my last ticket, but that was in 2000 in Salisbury, NC. I'd have to see if I still have the papers filed away...

Fwiw, I got it changed to improper equipment, and I'm sure any lawyer you can find in Robbinsville that is willing to take your case could do the same for a fee and court costs - small county seats mean everybody knows everybody, so I'd try to find a local lawyer in the yellow pages if I were you.

I found a few on Google that are local to Robbinsville. I'll probably just call each one up and talk to them before choosing one. Thanks all!

Good luck getting this resolved. I rode down to robbinsville and that town didn't really look like it was big enough for a cop. haha.

I did retarded stuff in my lotus for a year and never got pulled. Then I sold it due to me always doing retarded stuff and I had a mini cooper as a loaner car while they prepared my new car. Immediately, I got a stupid ticket for chirping the tires in the cooper. Cops are ridiculous sometimes.

Well, court date is Monday. None of the lawyers I tried contacting me would return my calls... Some of them I called as many as 3x. So anyway, I'm headed there tomorrow without representation. Wish me luck.

Oh, and it'd be nice to hang out with anyone wanting to come out on Monday afternoon/evening. Post up if you're close by and interested.

If you have a good driving record, ask for a prayer for judgment continued (PJC). A PJC is a finding of guilt without the entry of the judgment. You still pay court costs, but your insurance shouldn't take a hit.

If you get to court early, you can probably find a local attorney who will take your case that morning--especially if you have cash in hand.

Good luck.
