Unhappy New here looking for help

New to the whole scene in a way.
and im pretty much just looking for help everywhere I can get it.

About 9 months ago I was living in Hickory, NC with my dad and he was in the market for a new car. He drives a 01 Mustang GT Convertible with Foose Rims. He wanted another convertible but knew nothing of where to look. So he came to me, I first pointed out the Mercedes SL, and secondly the S2000. Went out and test drove a GPW 2005 S2K from the dealer. We both loved the car, and enjoyed the test drive through Hickory. The one thing that kept him from purchasing it was the small trunk space. He did not enjoy the idea of keeping his clubs in the front seat everytime he want to play golf.

This little test drive completely sold me over on the s2k, the small cockpit, the 2 seats, the color, although this one had the tan interior, and my choice would be red and black, and the 2 speed.

I had my heart set on an s2k, and wanted one as my first car. I was 15 at the time, and had yet to get my first car. Time rolled around when it came time for me to get a car, and my fathers boss had a 98 Mercedes ML320 he would sell him for a cheap. So my dad jumped on it. It wasnt the sports car I had dreamed of, but it was a great car for a new driver.

Fast forward.
I now have the opportunity to buy an S2k, not a new one mind you, but an S2K none the less.

I am looking at 2002 GPW s2ks with red and black interior. I came here for help. I am having the hardest time finding a GPW S2k in the area, or anywhere for that matter. I want a stock one, but it seems to me im going to have to take whichever color I can get my hands on..

Im sure many of you have had to find S2ks in the area, and would like help regaurding finding them around the Columbia area.

I would also be trading in the Mercedes, so a dealer is what is needed.
any help is greatly appareciated, and I cannot wait to become part of the Carolina S2K group.

I have a nice NFR S2000 with a red.blk interior I would sell you at a good price. It's basically stock now. All I have to do is reinstall the stock exhaust.

It'd have to be a rather great price, because I wouldn't be able to trade in the Mercedes.

How many miles?
And is it an 01 as stated in your profile?
I was leaning more towards 02..
Where are you located?

I was looking for a GPW 02 with around 50,xxx miles. I didnt want to pay more than $18,5 at a dealer so I could trade in the Mercedes.. The 01 I wasnt really looking for and the mileage is higher than I was wanting.. Im not really sure what would be fair to offer you. Anyway you could leave the Invidia exhaust on?

I can help you look in this area. I am only an hour away in Florence. There is an 03 GPW/Tan for sale here but I understand that you want a 2002. Unfortunatly that color combination is impossible without an interior swap.

2000-2001 - Red/black
2002 - All red
2003 - 2005 - Tan/black
2006 - Black
2007 - Red/black

Welcome to S2Ki!
Thanks!

Ive been doing a bit of browsing on both, and no GPWs on either that have caught my eye. I searched CARMAX and the closest thing they have is a yellow for more than I was willing to pay, although it does have the OEM lip which is something I was planning on adding seeing as how the Mugen front bumper I fell in love with is well beyond my reach..

On cars.com I found a yellow s2k for cheap that is in my area, but again, not the color I drooled over for the past 9 months.

Id be willing to go either 01 with the red black, or 02 with the all red interior then.

I am under the impression that in 02, the S2k is the newer model correct? As far as having the tweeters, nicer speakers, and other cosmetic dress ups as well as a few performance changes?
