New NC Owner
It all started when I went with my friend to test drive some cars he had on his list to buy when he returned from Army training.
2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe, 2009 350Z, 2009 S2k, 2009 Mini S (JCW), and a couple of others...
After he was sold on the Mini, we only had the Honda left to drive. I was really content with my 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 (actually the unofficial fastest intake/test pipe MS3 in the nation), but I have always liked the S2000. I took the test drive. That was all it took!
For those now educated about the MS3, the community is having a hard time breaking 400whp. It's a GREAT car to keep stock, but I don't like to be limited. Plus, there is no Mazdaspeed 3 out there that people look at and say that it's "sick" or "gorgeous." Sure there are nice ones, but there is just not enough aftermarket.
The S2000 has a badass motor, a flawless transmission, much better styling, and is a convertible. It's not very practical, but I'm 21, a senior at Appalachian State, and it's just me and the fiancee (she as a Cobalt).
Needless to say, I put the MS3 up for sale the next week. Luckily, I made some good investments in high school which meant that I only owed about 9k on the Mazda. I pretty much gave it away ($16,800 with new tires for a 2007 MS3 w/17k miles) once I found my S2000...
On June 28th, my PERFECT S2000 was listed on Craigslist in Wake Forest. I wanted either a GPW or LBP with under the 17,000 mile mark the Mazda had (I'm a chump for low mileage cars). The car in Wake Forest was a 2006 LBP that had always been garaged, maintained with Mobil 1 since 600 miles, had the OEM lip kit, and 9500 miles... all for 21k!
It's mine now and I cannot be happier... actually, it's rained up here in the mountains since I got it, so I haven't gotten to use the top much, but I put it down any time it's not pouring. People probably think I'm a douche.
Sorry for the long intro, but I'm pretty excited.
I hope to meet some of you. I've seen some of the NC cars around at some of the meets but I haven't met the owners yet.
(Like I said, it's been raining for most of the week... I will get some new pictures up soon)

And the old Mazda:

And the old Mazda:

Welcome to the S2k family. Boone is a great place to own an 'S'...lot of great roads. Maybe not so much in the winter...get some Blizzaks!
Good thing you got rid of the MS3, it appears to always be on fire. Or is that the afterburner. Nice ride, I'd bought it. Need a new daily driver.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks guys.
I've only kept about $1300 from the sale of the Mazda mods, so I don't have much to work with right now. I bought a FIPK to hold me over for a little while and now I'm saving the remainder $1050 to put some KW V3s on...
I don't want to do many motor mods right now... my plan as of now is to turbo the car once I graduate and get with an accounting firm. Who knows though, I may just do handling mods and track the car.
