Hi there,

Just wanted to post a newbie note. I bought an '03 Suzuka Blue last Thursday, and am enjoying it greatly. For those of you that know AgS2k (of Richmond, Va.), I am his brother-in-law.

My previous was an '01 Acura CL Type S. Loved the car, but wanted something sportier. Car before that was an Integra GS-R, so I'm used to (addicted to?) VTECing. I'd been looking for quite a while, at various cars. About 2 weeks ago, I test drove a '97 Porsche Targa. In my mind's eye, I was sure it was the car, but after the drive, I wasn't that excited. Nice car, sure, but it just felt so... heavy, I guess.

I also drove a Miata many months back. I loved the gokart feeling, but was less than impressed overall. The S2k was not unknown, but for whatever reason, it hadn't moved into my sights. Until last week.

After being disappointed with the Porsche, I picked up a copy of Auto Mart and perused. I saw an '01 S2k at Johnson Lexus for what looked like a good price. To try to get more details, I did a search on autotrader.com, and came across the '03. I went to Sanford Honda to test drive it, and ended up driving it home.

The folks at Sanford Honda were great to deal with. I highly recommend them.

Anyway, I'll mostly be a lurker, but I hope to be able to meet some of you at future events. And I promise I'll remember to check the FAQs before posting a dumb question.

I won't be able to make it this weekend. We were out of town last week for the holiday, so I've got some "honey-do's" that need to get done. Plus I'll probably spend some quality time with the car, getting the pollen off and making her shine.

The Dragon sounds awesome, though. Hopefully I can catch it next time.

I've never met this person. I deny all knowledge of his existence!

Mark's a great guy. You folks will enjoy having him at your meets!

And I didn't even pay him to say that! (Unless you count me buying his lunch on Sunday...) :-)
