Default Opinions?

Well I have decided to sell my Z28 and try to get myself a S2000. My money is a little tight at the current moment, but I found a S2000 for a good price. It has just turned over 103,000 miles, but was just fully serviced by Honda. The car is in overall great condition, except the convertible top is going to have to be replaced sooner than later. My friend was also the owner before he sold it to the current owner. The current owner also works for Honda as well, and has service records for the car. The car looks to be in great overall condition, minus the convertible top. He is trying to get $11,500 for it. What do you all think?

What is your price range? While it does sound like a decent deal, you will have to figure spending another 1K 1.5K on the top, so when it's all said and done you will be sitting at 13K, if you can come up with an additional 3-4K you can get a really nice s2k with half the miles on it. Also if you can sit on it a while, wait till next winter and you will be able to get a better deal on one

I really can't afford another $3,000 or $4,000. I was thinking I might be able to get the seller's price down to $11,000 for it. I really need to stay as close to $12,000 after everything is said and done.

paid $575 for my top with glass and defrost from Vic at HardTopGuy, put it in myself for free...as some of you here now know. just my $.02

what year is the car? my 00 has 110,000 miles but is in excellent condition, looks like it has maybe half that many miles. also note what options are included...factory spoilers, strakes, windblocker, optional shift knobs all add some value...in any case glad you're getting rid of the Z28. Blech

It's a 2000. It's pretty much just the base model with no factory options. It looks great. It also sounded and ran great when I drove it recently. Money is a little tight like I said, but it's worth the investment if I'm buying a reliable car. The convertible top can wait a little while before I really would need to replace it. I'm no expert, but I'd say at least few months. I really love these cars so much, and I would really love to own one when I'm still a little young.

btw i accidentally lied...got my top from topsonline, not hardtopguy...and if it's in great shape and runs great, i'd say $11k isn't bad.

If the guy works for Honda, wht not see if he can get the top put on for a total of $11,800.00. That way if he accepts the deal you stay under your budget and also get a new top. Worth a try.

Sorry, he works for Honda Motorcycles. That is a pretty good idea though.
