Carolinas. I am in the market for new rubber, and I am curious as to what you all are using out there. Please post the brand/model, your thoughts on that tire's wet/dry traction, and how the tire is holding up over XXXX miles.

Thanks.

Kumho Ecsta 712's. if you drive 33,000 miles/year! They're pretty cheap, last a little longer than S02's and work a little better in the rain IMHO. If I didn't drive so many miles though, I'd definitely go with something softer like the S02's. I've got R compounds for the really fun driving!

After talking to Jim at Tire Rack, I'm about to put on Bridgestone RE750s. They're supposed to be better in the wet and last a little longer. Not as grippy, but that should be ok for me.

I'm running Dunlop SP 5000's

No issues at Wake the Dragon but not as good in the dry as the S02's.

Wet

They were put on in December, and I've now got 7000 miles on them. They are wearing very well, only down 1 - 2 32nds from new, so I figure I'll get at least 30,000 miles out of them. I only got 8000 miles on my S02 rears before hydroplaning

I am thinking about going back to Yokohama AVS or trying out the Kuhmo MX.

Basically, I dont want to drop 700+ on new tires again.

Thanks for the input.

The S02s are the way to go IMO. I like the way the car handled the day I drove it off the lot so I keep purchasing the Potenza S02s so the handling feels the same!

S02's are the best. Front is almost going with 27K on them. The rears are at 15K and will need to be replace soon. I've tried Dunlops for a month and hated them. Returned them for a refund and got S02's. Dry traction is super while the wet of course depends on how much traction is left. I feel that when the rears hit 10K, the wet traction is poor. Then again, we haven't had much rain lately.

I'm running the Kuhmo Ecsta MX's.
Good in the rain & not bad in the dry, but they do have a different feel compared to the S02's.
Wear is excellent. I've got 12k on the tires with only around 20% tread loss.
Cons are that the tires feel squishy off the line and around tight corners (sidewall weak maybe?). Also, they aren't the most stable at highway speeds.....car feels out of alignment or darty compared to the feel the S02's gave on the highway.
Good tires if you're on a budget, but if you have the cash, go S02
