Most people are saying (whomever installed the diffusers) that for 3 months there is a guarentee of no problems....what happens after 3 months? If i do change to the clear diffusers, am i guranteed no problems at all? How has it lasted for people whom have had it for some time now? any condensation or things like htat?........thanx

You'd have to ask Rick, but I think his guarentee has to do with melting or general manufacturing problems with the diffusers, should said problem occur. I saw a post where someone's melted because of a hot bulb (not even Rick's fault because this was an aftermarket bulb) and Rick replaced the diffuser immediatly. The condensation has nothing to do with Rick unless you send the light to him to get done. Condensation will depend on your technique of installing and how well you reseal the lights.

To answer your other question...I think JDM clears look better.

I have had mine in since Thanksgiving with no problems. W1ngman installed mine and did a great job. He resealed them with the factory sealant and a silicone seal around the edge of the lights, which can't be seen once the lights are back on the car.

USDM looks better in my opinion....a little more aggressive look.

I have had these same concerns. I decieded to wait about a year or so to see if folks have any problems with cracking, yellowing, condensation before I make the switch. I would really like a set of real JDM's if I could find some for a good $.

BTW I like the JDM version of Rick's diffusers best, if you hadn't figured that out yet.

Anu,

If you're not great in the wrench department, I would strongly recommend getting some help or having someone like w1ngman do the install for you.

As for the warranty, I'm unsure of Rick's guarantee, but I know he has alwasy (and continues) to stand behind any products that he sells.

I actually had the prototype USDM lens installed on my car. So, in stating this, I'm basically telling you that I have the very first set of clear USDM lenses on my S. They have not faded, yellowed, cracked, etc. Of course, more time is needed to know more on how they will perform but I have seen no indication of problems. James (jfys2k) installed them for me while Rick and I watched on. Since this set was the prototype, we had no idea if they would work well or not.

Good thing that they did and Rick Hesel had them put into production. Since the install, I have easily racked up over 10k miles in all sorts of weather. Since the S2000 is my daily driver, I don't ahve the luxury of driving something else when it's cold and nasty out. So far, no issues with the lenses or lamps themselves.

As for USDM or JDM in clear, it's all about personal preference. Personally, I like the USDM's better because that's what I ahve on my car. Also, and E-Heezy stated this perfectly, they look "more aggressive." However, I have seen some JDM's and they look good too. In the end, it's all about personal preference. Hell, some folks are perfectly happy with their amber diffusers.

Here's a close up pic of my S2000 with clear USDM's.

Hope this helps you.

Dag anu... Where didn't you post this question???

I've replied to a couple of these threads but everyone posting here has in one manner or another responded in kind.
