Default Road&Track and Car & Driver

Has anyone read the new Road & Track and Car & Driver yet. They finally had the balls to have the s2000 go head to head with the boxter, audi, nissan and the Z4 in the Car & Driver piece and the 350z in Road & Track. Both very good articles. Up to now they would not go head to head since our car was under 40,000.00$ Just proves what we already know about our cars.

Here is the link to the article:

The S2000 came in third but Car and Driver admitted it was partly because of the hardtop they had put on it took the fun out of it because you dont hear the noise of the road.

No this is the new article with the heads up comparison. The S2000 came in first in the contest with the boxster, audi tt, Z4 and 350 Z. Road and track picked the S2000 over the 350Z these are both the Aug. editions. Dean did you get your exhaust put on?

Boneman,

Yep I have the exhaust and the costal metals grill both on now. I like the Spugen with the Silencers in. A little too loud at high RPMs with the silencers out. Definetly makes the car a deeper sound even with the silencers.

It is the august issue for Car & Driver and Road & Track. On the cover are all the roadsters. I have a subscription so it may not be on the stands yet. Congratulations on your spugen, I did not get silencers I diden't know they came that way. Mine is the oval tips and oval mufflers. Carefull going on those on ramps it can get addicting.

Boneman,

I didn't see the August Issue. It is still in July at the newstand. I will check in a couple of days.

I always get on the on ramps fast. That is half the fun of the car

Not only does the issue compare the Z4, 350Z Roadster, Boxster, TT and S2000, but it also has news on the upcoming 2004 model.

They state that our 2.0 liter will be replaced by a 2.2 delivering more torque, but the same horsepower. Also, the 9k redline will be reduced and the horsepower kick is to be much more gradual. (No more VTEC kick at 6300rpm)

Also, front and rear fascias are expected to be slightly restyled, along with interior enhancements.

I really thought that '05 would be the year these changes would take place. Guess the '04 is going to be different. No word on the name changing to S2200.

If it has the same HP but more torque then it sounds more like Honda is chaning the car to be easier to drive. I will have to wait and see how the 2.2 litre does but the reason I don't own a Boxster right now is because of the fun of having the VTEC kick in at 6000 RPMs.

And please dont tell me it will come with a automatic as an option!
