Just north of the golden gate bridge is a giant redwoods forest. it might be muir woods, but I'm not sure of the name. Easy walking path with great trees close by (the larger forests are way far away).

I would suggest a trek north on CA 1 up towards bodega bay (hitchcock's the birds). good drive. Then head west to calistoga, then south through napa valley for wine tasting.

Sears point is near by but not worth going to unless there is an event you can attend.

In the east bay, you may find snow on mt. diablo. Skyline blvd. and readwood rd are pretty too.

Out in Blackhawk (eastbay Danville/San Ramon) is the Bering (sp) Auto Musium, very nice.

If this is the kind of info your looking for, I can give you more. If your looking for nightclubs & such, I'm not much help.

Enjoy,

Mark
